Virginia Lee Burton, Beautiful and Life like objects

           One of the great children's book illustrators Burton is saddly not as will circulated or known as an artist and story teller of her skills would be. With cute stories of snow plows and construction equipment that are actually bearable to read many children and parents will lover her work. Perhaps her greatest work however is one of the hardest to find, "The Little House." The little house is the story of a families house, as they grow and the house watches over them, and as the city over takes the house leaving it lonely and sad. Its amazing how wonderfully she illustrates the text into the pictures, with a style reminsant of folk American that creates an emotional atmosphere that you want to sink into or flee from as is appropriate to the book, this book is a must have for your collection.

Another interesting book is that of Katy, the story of a rarely utilized piece of equipment, the snow plow. Katy however gets to be the hero when it snows, a fun book that yor children are sure to love, the warm illustration style makes this book good both for display and reading.
